Introduction

Around 2,000 years ago, in the_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_city of Jerusalem, a woman was_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_about to be stoned to death._cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Why? Because she had slept with_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-13 6bad5cf58d_a man she was not married to and had_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_been caught in the act. This_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_was against Jewish law and so the_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_scribes and Pharisees had determined t o put her to death as punishment.  What happened next? Mercifully her_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_life was spared, because of a_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_man named Jesus: After the Scribes and Pharisees_c c781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_asked Him what should become of_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_her, Jesus said to them “ He that is without sin among you,_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_let him first cast a stone_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5c f58d_at her”. One by one, being_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_convicted by their own conscience, they_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_left her alone with Jesus, who then said_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_to her “Neither do I condemn_cc78190 5-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_thee: go, and sin no_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_more” (John 8:1-11).

Jesus told this woman to “sin_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_no more”. But what had she_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_actually done wrong? All she did_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_was sleep with a man. She_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf 58d_no había matado a nadie. Surely this woman wasn't harming anyone_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_else in what she was doing._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_It may have been wrong according to_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_the strict Jewish culture of the time, but_cc 781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_this is far removed from the_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_21st century! She was probably quite_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_a good person_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d. This is what  most in the western world_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_think today."I give to charity," "I_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_look after my family, I've_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_never killed anyone... I'm a good_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_persona"._cc7 81905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_

Do you too think you are good? 

​

God does not measure sin as we_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_do. The Bible says that all_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_have sinned, and come short of_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_the glory of God; (Romans_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf 58d_3:23). Jesus Himself said, there is none good but_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_one, that is, God (Mark 10:18)._cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Imagine it was you to whom_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_Jesus said:

“He that is without sin among you , let him first cast a stone at_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_her”.

Would you, just like the scribes_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_and Pharisees, realise by your own_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_conscience that you are unable to throw_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_a stone at anyone else because_cc781905-5 cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_you yourself have done things wrong_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_before? If you have ever stolen,_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_or told a lie, or treated_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_someone unjustly, you have fallen short_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_of the perfect law of God._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_Every one of us has done something_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_wrong at least once in our_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_lives, and because of this, we are deserving_cc 781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_of death, because the wages_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

But why did Jesus let this woman_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_go free if she had sinned?_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_If the wages of sin is_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_death, surely Jesus should have_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf5 8d_let the Scribes and Pharisees stone her. He alone_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_was without sin among them; He_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_had the right to cast the_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_first piedra! Many of us have this idea that God_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_wants to punish us. Subconsciously we feel that God is angry_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_with all of His creation, looking and_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_waiting to catch them out in their sin_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_so that He can pour_cc781905-5c de-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_out His wrath and punish them_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_for all eternity. But the exact opposite_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_is true! From Genesis to Revelation,_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_God shows us that it's His_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 1 36bad5cf58d_desire that all men and women should_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_be saved and come to the_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_knowledge of Him. God created us in_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_His likeness (Genesis 5:1) and_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_to be in fellowship with Him._cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_But in the Garden of Eden,_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_after Adam and Eve sinned, they hid_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_from God's presence. God's desperation at_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3 b-136bad5cf58d_man's disobedience and the subsequent separation from Him_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_is evident when the Lord God calls to_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Adam diciendo:

 

“Where art thou?” (Genesis 3:9)._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_

We read in Genesis 5:6 that_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_because of man's wickedness, God regretted_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_having made man and was 'grieved'_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_in His heart about it! Why? Because God's desire is for_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_all to be saved, and not_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_perish (2 Peter 3:9).

In this 2,000-year-old historical account set_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_in the temple of Jerusalem, we_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_see Jesus' heart for all mankind_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_when He says to the woman “Neither do_c c781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_I condemn thee”. He wants_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_her to go free, but he also urges_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_her to “sin no more”. Why?  Because sin is what separates us from_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136malo5cf58d_Él!_cc781905-5cde-3194-b b3b-136bad5cf58d_This is why Jesus came to_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_the earth some 2,000 years ago._cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Did you know that the old Testament foretold the coming of_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Jesus, thousands of years before_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_it happened? God knew exactly how,_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_when, and where Jesus would be born,_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_be put to death, and then rise_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_again 3 days later. This was_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136malo5cf58d _God's incredible plan to bring us_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_back to Him, that we should not_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_be eternally separated from Him because of our_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_sin, but instead live forever with_ cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Him. When Jesus died on_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_the cross in a place outside Jerusalem called_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_Golgotha, He was taking upon Himself_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_the judgment and wrath of God_cc781905-5cd e-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_that we should have faced. There has to be a penalty paid for our_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_sin. But in His great love_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_for us, God was willing to_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_pay the fine for us, that_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136malo 5cf58d_we need not bear the penalty ourselves. God sent his only begotten Son into_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_the world, that we might live_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_through Him. Herein is love, not_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_that we loved God, but that He loved us,_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_and sent his Son to be_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_the propitiation for our sins (1 John_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_4:9-10).

"For God so loved the world,_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_that he gave his only begotten Son , that whosoever believeth in him should_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_not perish, but have everlasting life" (John_ cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_3:16).

Great, so why do we need_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_to concern ourselves about any of this?  It sounds like God has got_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_it all covered. Let's read_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136malo 5cf58d_on further from John 3:16…

"He that believeth on him is not_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_condemned: but he that believeth not_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_is condemned already, because he hath_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_not believed in the name of the_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_only begotten Son of God" ( John 3:18).

"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_in thine heart that God hath_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_raised him from the dead,_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3 b-136bad5cf58d_thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Entonces, ¿qué debo hacer para ser salvo?

To be saved, you need to_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_believe on Jesus in your heart,_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_and confess Him as your Lord:_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136malo5cf58d_

"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_in thine heart that God hath_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_raised him from the dead,_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3 b-136bad5cf58d_thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9) .

If you do not, you will_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_be eternally separated from God. You_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_will be condemned because of your wrongdoing.  It's only by Jesus that you_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_can be saved, not through any_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_other god, religion, or manmade philosophy. "Jesus saith unto him, I am_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_the way, the truth, and the life: no_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_man cometh unto the Father, but_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_by me" (John 14:6).  " Y esta es la vida eterna, que te conozcan a ti, el único G verdadero. od, and Jesus Christ, whom thou_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_hast sent" (John 17:3). After His encounter with the woman, Jesus again_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_addressed the crowd in the temple, and said to them, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_me shall not walk in darkness,_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_but shall have the light of life”_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_(John 8:12).

 

When you give your heart to Jesus,  your life will never be the_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_same! You will no longer walk_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_in darkness, but walk in_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5 cf58d_the Light. 

Therefore if any man be in Christ,  he is a new creature:_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136malo5cf58d_

 

"...old things are passed away; behold,_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_all things are  become new"_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_(2 Corinthians 5:17).

The Lord's second coming to this_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_earth is fast approaching, and our_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_prayer is that you will not delay,  but seek the Lord today!_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb 3b-136bad5cf58d_If you ask Him into your life and confess Him_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_as your Lord and Saviour, you_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_will be saved. You will be_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_washed from all your sin and_c c781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_have the blessed hope and assurance of_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_living eternally with Him! If you_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_would like to give your life to_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Jesus, I urge you to reach out_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_to Him, ask for forgiveness for your_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_sins, and accept Him as Lord_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_of your life. If you are_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_not sure what to say, you_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_may like to pray how Jesus taught us:

And lead us not into temptation,_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_but deliver us from evil: For_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_thine is the kingdom, 

and the power, and the glory,_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_forever.
